Overheard in New York

Whenever you need a laugh you should go to Overheard in New York.Com. The site just a bunch of postings of what New Yorkers overhear other people saying in New York City. It also includes the location of where the person overheard it. Some of the postings can be crude and may have some swearing...But the site is very funny. Thanks Sean for showing me the site.

Shop Till You Drop!!!

According to MSNBC it looks like the three year investigation into Rush "Doctor Shopper" Limbaugh is coming to a close. Unfortunately, Mr. Limabaugh is getting off easy (according to his own belief). According to the article "Prosecutors accuse him of "doctor shopping", or illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions. They learned that he received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion." The article continued by stating that "Limbaugh pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions. Though he steadfastly denies doctor shopping, the charge will be dismissed in 18 months if Limbaugh complies with court guidelines, his lawyer Roy Black said"

Now, I am the first person to have sympathy for someone who is addicted to alcohol or drugs. I would encourage anybody with an addiction to seek professional help and would help that person out in any way. However, I don't have sympathy for a guy who in 1995 said the following:

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up." -- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995 show transcript.

If Rush truly practiced what he preached, Rush wouldn't had made a deal with prosecutors. He would have swallowed his own words and gone to jail. Words like:

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too." -- Rush Limbaugh. October 5, 1995

It's amazing how people listen to this guy and actually believe that what he says is gospel. But the fact of the matter is...He is a big hypocrite. Shame on you Rush!!!

And you thought I was addicted!!

A few buddies of mine have always busted on me about how much I play golf or the fact that I leave work 45 minutes early every Friday in the summer to play golf. Well let me introduce you to John Furin of Hibbing, Minn. According to columnist Bob Bestler of Myrtle Beache's The Sun News, 64-year-old retiree John Furin played 572 rounds of golf last year. The kicker is, he didn't do this in a warm climate where people golf every day of the year but in Hibbing, Minn between April and October. Some days he played up to 5 rounds a day and an occasional round at night.

The Bush Manifesto

It's amazing how some people don't want to believe why we are in this awful war. I remember at the begining of the Persion Gulf War (back in 1990) telling people that the war was for oil. People looked at me like I had four heads. Only 1,005 days to go.

Easter Sunday & Mom's Special Day

Sunday the three of us went to Laura's house for Easter Dinner and Mom's Special Day. Sean was up from New York City so this was the first time my entire family has been together since Charlotte was born. As usual the food was great and everybody had a great time. What a great weekend for Charlotte...Not only was it her first Easter Sunday and G-mom's Special Day, but Charlotte finally got to meet my brother, Sean.

Is Google making its feelings known?

Although there is no official word from Google, it looks like the boys running the popular search engine have thought of a clever way to tell the world how they feel about the current state of America.

How, may you ask. It's Simple....Go to Google and type the word "failure". Instead of clicking "Google Search," click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Then watch what site is brought up.

I'm not going to go into my opinion on this because I'm sure most of you know it by now. However, I will say this, I laughed for about 5 minutes after I tried it. It's no wonder why this company is doing so well. I just wish I had bought some stock when it was $100 per share.

I know it's a week early, but I thought now would be a good time to wish you and your family a Happy Easter and to share with you Charlotte's first Easter pictures. The photographer did a great job capturing Charlotte's great smile.

The Masters - April 6 - 9

Here's a clip that should get everybody in the mood for the upcoming Masters. This is the amazing shot that Tiger made on the 16th hole of the final round last year. Tiger went on to claim his 4th green jacket. Say what you want about watching golf on TV. I've heard many people compare it to watching paint dry. But after watching this clip, you can't tell me that it's not exciting. Especially when it involves Tiger...He is the man!!! Coverage begins Thursday, April 6th.

After you play the clip, here is a link to The Golf Channel's 2006 Masters Preview.

Beavis & Butthead Rule

Whenever I watch Beavis & Butthead a little part of me says this is one of the dumbest shows on TV. Yes, it's dumb, but it was also one of the funniest shows on TV at the time. I spent many afternoons in college watching this show for hours. Here are a couple classics: 1. The bus trip and 2. The Great Cornholio. Try not to laugh too hard!!

You gotta love the 80's

Not only was the 80's the decade of cheesy TV (i.e. Knight Rider), but it also had its fair share of cheesy music. Here is one of my favorites....A-Ha, Take On Me. Ahhh...the memories.

Dinner with G-Mom

G-mom came over last Sunday for dinner and to spend time with the family. Papa would have been here too, but he was out of town on a golf trip. For dinner we had Salsa chicken followed by G-mom's famous Apple Crisp.
Taking a snooze before G-mom arrives.
So Sweet.
Hanging out with G-mom....Thinking!!!
This is the life.
