A quick trip to Manchester, VT.

Chris and I took a quick trip up to Manchester, VT. tonight to have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, The Ye Olde Tavern. With our baby expected to make an appearance within the next 3 weeks, this was probably our last night out to a nice restaurant for awhile. This restaurant has become one of our favorites when we visit Manchester. The colonial atmosphere in this 200 year old building is casual, but full of the old New England Village charm. Next time you take a trip to Manchester, stop in for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

20 Years Since Challenger

It was 20 years ago today the Space Shuttle Challenger Explosion unfolded before our eyes. For me, it was one of the few days in my life that I was home, sick, from school. Sean was also home since the highschool was having mid-terms that week. Anyway, we were watching TV in our room when the "Special Report" came up and from then on it was non-stop coverage of this awful tragedy. To this day, I can remember Dan Rather sitting there with a model of the space shuttle talking about what could have happened with experts. The networks kept showing the explosion over and over again.

I could only hope the all the astronauts didn't suffer and died instantly, although MSNBC has a article on their web site entitled "7 myths about the Challenger shuttle disaster"that brings out the point that the astronauts may not had died until their capsule smashed into the water over a minute after the explosion.

Elmo's Being Bad

Here's a story related to kids. Apparently, a Ellensburg, Wash women bought her 2 year child a "Potty Time With Elmo" book which was supposed to have a pre-recorded message from Elmo that said "Uh oh, who has to go?". But the book that Crystal Gillum bought for her daughter says "Uh oh, who wants to die?". The company has said they would replace her book free of charge. It also sounds like the women should get her hearing checked.

Oh, and what else is new, the book is becoming a collectors item on e-bay.

T Minus 19 Days and Counting

Well, It's official...my family site is up and running. My buddy Chris Rooney gave me the thumbs up on it last week...This meant a lot considering that Chris is the web master at local NBC affiliate WNYT-Ch. 13. My goal is to use this site to post pictures of our new baby when he or she arrives in mid-February.

Oh..I'll also try my hardest to keep the topics of the blog light...But remember...I'm an avid Red Sox fan and I love to talk politics...So there may be times when I will get cranked up.

So let me give you the latest baby news. Chris is due February 13th and feeling good (considering the fact that she is 37 weeks pregnant). The nusery is pretty much done, except for a few wall hangings. The house is filling up with baby stuff...I think Maggie (our 20 month old Carin Terrier) is getting confused.

Check every few days to see updates and pictures.

Life as a Dog

Some days you just wish you had the life of a dog. Maggie and Riely have been playing all day...now it's time for a nap.
