Who The Hell Is Joe

My cousin, Jessica wondered on her facebook page last night if Joe the Plumber and Joe Six-Pack were the same Joe. Well, obviously it wasn't the same Joe that lost the NLDS to the Phillies.

Between the time spent talking about Joe and arguing about negative campaigns, there was maybe 2 minutes spent talking about real issues. And people don't seamed to be bothers by this??

Call me crazy, but I thought Joe the Plumber raised a good point. Obama's tax plan is all about punishing success.

Everyone can achieve the American Dream -- but only to a point. If you achieve it too well, we'll tax ya more!

What was Obama's response to Joe? "We've got to spread the wealth around." If you believe in capitalism, then that's a pretty scary statement.

If this guy gets in with a friendly Democratic Congress, then there is nothing to stop them from doing whatever they want. You don't like the pork that's out there now? You ain't seen nothing yet!

This is coming from a guy who voted for a 95 million bond act so a school district can move dirt around for 5 yeras.

Based on your comments, I hope you think 700 billion dollar bail out was a bad idea. And what about the 30 billion bailout of AIG. And then they go on a $400,000 posh retreat and 80,000 hunting trip.

You got to stop listening to talk radio.

I pay my bills. I live within my means. I've NEVER carried a balance on a credit card.

You bet your ass I was upset about the bailout.

And I listen to ESPN Radio and WAMC about as much as I listen to anything else. So try another one.

(I'm filling in for Noah on this argument because he's a little distracted)

I live within my means too and have also never had a credit card balance. I have always lived within my means. But I never accused you of doing that in the first place.

Listen, republicans and democrats all spend the same amount of money. The only difference is that that democrats spend it by raising your taxes and pay for their expenses now (sorta like what you with not carying a credit card balance)while republicans pull out their credit cards and deficit spend and push their debt to future generations.

Don't think that either one of these guys are going to reduce spending. They won't!!

What I meant was that I live on a very tight budget and have had to make a lot of cuts, but there is no bailout for my family -- nor would I ever expect one. But he people who screw up get rescued with our tax dollars.

All the "experts" on both sides say it's needed to get the market back and track -- and maybe that's true. But it's an awfully big pill for me to swallow.
