Politics As Usual

Well the honeymoon is over in Albany and it looks like it is business as usual with New York's dysfunctional legislators. Elliot, Joe and Sheldon had a deal that a special committee (consisting of former comptrollers and legislatures) would interview candidates for the comptroller position and present 5 leading candidates to the legislators for a vote. Well the committee only presented 3 and none of them were legislatures. From what I read, all 3 had the qualifications to be the CFO of this state and what was really great is none of them were legislatures.

Well Sheldon and Joe got pissed off and turned on their famous "How Dare You Not Pick A Boy From The Club" attitude, ignored the committee recommendations and voted one of their boys in. I know they had every right to reject the committe's candidates, but they should have stated rejecting the committee's choices was a possibility from the begining. This committee was a big waste of time and now Dinapoli is the CFO of New York and all he has on his resume is that he's been legislature for the last 19 years. How does that make you qualified to be comptroller?

I blame this whole debacle on Sheldon & Joe. It's amazing, we get rid of Hevesi the crook and these two clowns put in Dinapoli the goon. Yep it's politics as usual in Albany...Sheldon and Joe have egg on their face, but in my eyes Eliott is smelling like a rose.
