Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Today was the last day of summer and the three of us tried to go out with a bang by going to the Adirondack Balloon Festival in Glens Falls, NY. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and all 90 Balloons were grounded because of strong winds. So instead, Charlotte, Chris and I stopped by the Docksider Restaurant on Glen Lake. The lakeside patio was open and the temperature was perfect for dinner and to toast the summer of 2007.

Hypocracy Is Our Middle Name

Wednesday night at 8:00PM, millions of people across this great country will tune into CBS and prove to the world just how hypocritical we are. Yep, on this day CBS will air a show about a bunch of kids who were paid $5,000 each to play survivor of the fittest. The network is calling this show "Kid Nation" but I'm just going to call it a show about legalized slave labor. Yes, CBS and their lawyers are obviously making the claim that it is legal and all precautions were taken to prevent any damaging long term effects and the network has hired pediatricians and psychologist to ensure bad things don't go down. Do you honestly think that bad things won't go down to some of the kids? You really think that this show will be a positive experience for all the participants?

Although it may be legal, my gut instinct is telling me this is a very bad idea and another instance of how our country is hypocritical. The network (and the show production company/staff), the parents of the kids participating, the advertisers, the pediatricians and the psychologist are all doing this show for one thing and one thing only...Money!!! The viewers are supporting the greed. And that is very sad. This country has had a history of protecting it's children, but when some TV executive flashes dollar bills in front of our eyes and gives us a BS line about how the show won't have any detrimental effect on the kids, we forget common sense and about our duty to protect the kids.

People will argue with me that I'm just being cynical. Yep, I am...But our duty as a parent is to protect our childeren. We teach them to not talk to strangers, yet we will believe a profit driven network and BS Con Artist producers that they will protect our Kids and our childeren are more important then their show...Yeah Right, OK!!! And pigs will fly too!! Remember, it is not our job to protect our kids, it's our duty. So do your duty: Don't tune in to "Kid Nation".

On a side note, this is the same network that got slammed for the infamous "Wardrobe Malfunction". Everyone went nuts and said how it was such an evil thing to show during a "Family Event". So "Wardrobe Malfunctions" are bad and "Slave Nation", I mean "Kid Nation" is OK?? Yes, that makes a lot of sense.

The Price May Be Right But You Are Stupid

Tonight I was looking up the date of the Season Premiere of "The Price Is Right" with new host Drew Carey. As it turns out, the first show is October 15, 2007, at 11:00am on CBS 6.

While I was googling the show, a You Tube video appeared in the search list that caught my eye. The video was titled "One of the Worst The Price Is Right Players Ever". Wow...this chick sure is stupid...talk about Dumb Luck!!!

And then there is the Flip Flop Cheater.

Southwest's Jets Need Some Cooling Off

Wow...Read this MSNBC article about how a women was recently asked to cover up before she boarded a Southwest Airline. I guess the outfit she wore onto the plane offended the boy behind the ticket counter. Yes, that's right, this women was told by a man to cover-up.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking when it comes to "Keith"...Not that there is anything wrong with that. Regardless, Southwest Airlines needs to loosen up, get real and apologize or else they are going to have to pay up.

More Pictures of Baby # 2

We are approaching 100 days until Baby # 2 makes his or her arrival. Chris is doing great and doctor says everything is going fine. Chris is understandably more tired with this one then she was with Charlotte...With Charlotte, Chris didn't have to chase around a 19 month old.

Here are are some images of from Chris's 20 week ultra sound last week.

Just So You Know

I haven't verified that all of these are in fact true. But it does make you think...Are we better off now then we were in the year 2000. Of course the administration will blame half of these things on Clinton (A typical comeback rather then taking blame themselves).
