Something A Parent Should NOT be Proud Of

We all know how parents love to talk about how proud they are about their children. Here is a story where the parents shouldn't be very proud at all.

According to Newsday, "Thirteen-year-old Morgan Pozgar, of Claysburg, Pa., was crowned LG National Texting champion on Saturday after she typed the first two lines of the "Mary Poppins" song "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" in 15 seconds."

I'm embarrassed that an American won. It tells us where are countries priorities are. Where were the parents during her training period. I can here them now...Little Morgan got 3 Cs, a D and a F, but that $25,000 is sure going to help her get into college. What a bunch of Morons!!

Broom Anyone!!!

I know it's early to start the trash talk, but I can only imagine what the Yankee Fans would say if the Yanks swept the Soxs. Jon Miller of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball said it best when referring to Mike Lowell's home run (the 3rd of 4 consecutive home runs):

"And that one is headed to New Hampshire"

Look at the bright side...A-Rod set a record this month. Maybe he will get back into the swing of things like his days in Texas & Seattle. Those teams did so well when he played for them....Yeah right!!

Free Beer & Hot Wings

Ever since ESPN Radio switched from 1300 AM to 104.5 FM, I haven't been able to listen to it at work because I'm unable to pick it up on my radio. With nothing to listen to in morning, I decided to try Free Beer & Hot Wings on Q103.

FBHW started at Q103 back in early 2006 when Howard Stern moved to satellite. I was a little apprehensive at first because being a big Stern fan, I always thought these guys were just a bunch of "Stern Wanna-bees". Well, needless to say, I was wrong. These guys are pretty funny. Their humor is very similar to mine and although they aren't "rolling on the floor laughing" like stern, they are consistently funny.

Here is a clip of producer Joe running through the paintball gauntlet in a speedo. Funny stuff!!

The Pizza Massacre!

Fenway Park and beer...What a beautiful thing!!! The guy ruined a perfectly good piece of pizza, but it provided some great enertainment. And nobody can beat the NESN announcers.

"Huh"

Do you have to be a Republican to understand this guy? Here are some "classic" quotes from our Georgie Boy:

"[A] free Iraq is essential to our respective securities." - Washington, D.C.; 6/1/04

"The's no question that the minute I got elected, the storm clouds on the horizon were getting nearly directly overhead." - Washington, D.C.; 5/11/01

"It's going to require numerous IRA agents" - On Gore's Tax Plan; Greensboro, NC; 10/10/00

"This notion that the U.S. is getting ready to attack Iran is simply reidiculous. And having said that, all options are on the table." - Brussels, Belgium; 2/22/05

"Laura and I are Proud to call John and Michelle Engler our friends, I know you're proud to call him governor. What a good man the Englers are." - Grand Rapid, Michigan; 11/3/00

"Listen, Al Gore is a very tough opponent. He is the incumbent. He represents the incumbency. And a challenger is sombody who generally comes from the pack and wins, if you're going to win. And that's where I'm comming from." - Detroit, Michigan; 9/7/00

The IRS Is Turning Into A Softie

I never thought I would see the day when the IRS was getting soft, but today it happened. According to the Times Union, "People directly affected by the storm that hit the Northeast on Sunday and Monday are entitled to a two-day extension for filing their tax returns". So basically they are rewarding people for procrastinating. Common, these people have had 3 months....Slam them with the penalty.

What a bunch of softies!!

Cake, Golf & Our First Night "Out Out"

I haven't blogged in two weeks, so I guess now is a good time for a update. In the last two weeks Chris has been having fun in her cake decorating class, I had fun in Ocean City, Maryland and Chris and I went "out out" without Charlotte for the first time since she was born.
-
Last month, Chris and her friend Marian decided to take a Cake Decorating class at Joann's. I guess Chris got the bug when she decorated Charlotte's birthday cake back in February. As you can see she is doing a great job.
-
On Friday, March 23rd, my father, my uncle and I along with 17 other guys went down to Ocean City, Maryland for 5 days of golf, food, beer and fun. A total of 117 holes were played in the 5 days we were there including: 18 on Friday at Baywood Greens, 18 on Saturday at Eagles Landing, 27 on Sunday at the Bay Club, 36 on Monday at the Beach Club & Lighthouse Sound and 18 on Tuesday at Bear Trap Dunes. After Bear Trap it was back home. We had a great time, but it was good to get home and see Chris & Charlotte.
-
This past weekend, it was off to the Picture People for the family photo and Charlotte's Easter picture (to be added later). After the photo we had a quick bite to eat at Ruby Tuesday's and then Chris and I went "out out" for the first time since Charlotte was born.

Yes, we have gone out to the movies since Charlotte's birthday, but we have never actually gone out to a bar to hang out. Chris and I, along with my parents, Laura, Tony, Sue, Larry, the Lansley and Daily's went down to Katie O'Byrne's in Schenectady, NY to see Hair of the Dog. If you are ever in the Albany area and get a chance to see Hair of the Dog, make sure you see them. A great Irish band. Oh, and thanks again to my cousin Amy for watching Charlotte.

Here are some more pictures from the last few weeks. You can view more pics by clicking on our album above.
